Course was in better shape than I expected
You can tell they have been pouring the water to the course during the last few weeks of little rain. Greens in decent shape. Need to get rid of the weeds in the greens but overall they rolled good.
Found en awesome "Hot Deal", and played for $22/person prepaid after all the taxes and fees
This course is worth the drive if you haven't played it. With the different sets of tees, all payers can find a set that matches their length.
Excellent Value for a Beautiful Course
We played on Monday morning and there was no one in front of us or behind us. This is a beautiful course and it is in great condition. The only drawback is that some of the greens were in average condition, but most greens were above average. The Golf Now rate was definitely a savings over booking on the course website. I highly recommend Evergreen Point as a great golf course.
Love this course.
Love this course the price is the only discouragement.Great greens around the green!
Good value on the condition of this round
Tee box and fairway condition are good, but need some work on the green. Overall this course is good comparing with other courses in Houston.
Terrible greens
This course has terrible greens. I actually really
Like the layout here, but I stopped playing here last year because they just don't take care of the greens. People kept telling me how great of shape it was in, so I told myself I would try it out 1 more
Time, and I was very disappointed again. They really shouldn't charge as much as they do if they're not going to keep the most important part of the course up(the greens). I don't think I will return. Putting ball/club washers on the carts definitely isn't enough to Change my mind.
Greens were not looking good
I liked the course over all, but greens were damaged and poor but fairways and tee boxes looked good. I was told that in a few weeks greens will be back to normal
This is a great layout and once greens come in from sanding should be in better shape.
The layout is great
Easy to get to via express and toll roads
The greens had just been sanded, but did not appear to be punched.. so not sure how good they will come back.. this course demands a lot of good golf shots and gives alternative ways to play a hole..
Almost there!
This course has so much potential to be a fantastic course. My first impression was that this was going to be the best course I have ever played. After teeing off number 1, which was a beautiful track, we eventually made it up to the green. There were obvious signs of struggle to keep the greens in pristine condition. They were mostly dead with patches of grass sprouting out everywhere. Hole placement could have been better since parts of the green where managed. That really is my only complaint. The fairways were in excellent shape with plush and even grass. Tee boxes were also in decent shape. If these greens were in better shape, this course would definitely be rated as one of my favorite tracks.
Staff only thing going for it right now..!
Played EG about a month ago and it was just above the fair mark. Yesterday ( 5-20-13 ) greens are terrible, maybe 2 fair greens of 18, Diseased looking / lumpy and punched with ant mounds. I love this course believe it or not, used to be a prod member. I know the owners and staff very well, very friendly.
All I can say is to stay away, heard the New Greens Keeper is working on the problem. Maybe in a couple wks or a month the greens will be puttable but not now. Rest of the course I'd give a C, such a shame.. Great lay out and could be in the top 20 courses in SE Texas..
average course
There was nothing outstanding about this course. It was okay, a good value but not just memorable
The course layout is interesting and requires some course management.
I enjoyed the course, it is challenging but not too difficult. The terrain varies more than many courses in the Greater Houston Area. The clubhouse is nice and the snack bar appeared to be quite complete, including a bar. I cannot comment on the food because I didn't eat there. The course itself needs some TLC. I understand they lost their greenskeeper and also their greens last summer during the drought; however, I also understand they have a new greenskeeper in place and the greens are coming back. They were okay, but within a month with good care they should be very good. The were large and multileveled which made them interesting.
Interesting layout.
We played as a twosome and were stuck behind a foursome who didn't waive us through until the 7th hole. It would have been nice to see a Marshall out there to help us out but we still ended up finishing in less than 4 hours. The beverage cart did not come see us until the 16th hole. The greens on the front nine were very choppy and it was impossible to hold the line of any puts. One green was so bad you could see bare spots and patches of sand. The back nine greens were more acceptable for some reason. Very smooth with average speed. Would have been nice if they were all like that. Some of the fairways were dry and thin which made it difficult to hit pure shots. Overall, I would have expected a little more for the $42 rate we paid but would definitely play again if I knew the greens were in better shape.
The course has a lot of water !
Not so hard but not easy course , they were airing the greens so they weren't in the best shape but decent .
Enjoyed the course. Nice views, but greens need some work.
This was my first time to play this course and I really enjoyed it. Tee areas and Fairways we nice, but the greens need some attention. Some of the holes had water that you could not see from the tee, so you need keep the driver in the bag. We also saw some gators, but the staff tried to keep them in the water. However, we did see one 6 foot gator eat a turtle!
Greens need some work
The greens were not in great shape. Difficult to putt on, little grass. Would come back more frequently if greens were in better shape.
A feel good golf course
This is a good looking course with trees and water and interesting holes. And yet much of the rough is still forgiving which is just what I need. Let's me keep playing the same ball. The greens are faster than they look so I would visit the putting green before teeing off.
