The Oaks course is one of two championship golf courses at the TPC San Antonio, located just north of downtown and 12 miles from San Antonio International Airport. Designed by Greg Norman and player consultant Sergio Garcia, it stretches to 7,435 yards and will play host to the PGA Tour's Valero Texas Open. The golf course winds through Texas Hill Country oak trees and has just 100 feet of elevation change between the highest and lowest point - a stark contrast compared to the next-door Canyons course designed by Pete Dye. Both TPC San Antonio courses are private with the exception of guests of the onsite JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort.

American target golf at its best, or worst depending on your perspective. I’m sure it’s a great test for the pros but for everyone else it can be a frustrating experience. Played in late January, course was in Fantastic shape. Greens ran true. Pretty generous landing areas for drives but all the greens were very well protected and repelled anything but the most accurate shots. Lots of elevated greens with deep bunkers. I found myself in multiple bunkers and the tough part was my ball would always stop on a down hill lie making it virtually impossible to elevate the ball enough to get it close to the hole or even up to the green. I made plenty of pars but any missed greens immediately brought double bogey into play. I’m glad I played it but frankly enjoyed the Canyons course much more. More scenic and forgiving of shots slightly off target.

Very nice course and in good shape. Def overpriced for a course that isn't top 100. Plays tough requiring accurate approach shots.

Absolutely the worst golf experience for the 200 dls plus fee.....I will never come back ...was playing with a 450 Dlr gift certificate and still spent another 200.00 dls course was only mediocre ....don't waste your time or money. .........

Terrible customer service at the golf course. The starter (Reed) was very nice! The course was in great shape and the maintaince people were about the only pleasant people there. Unexceptable behavior in reference to the "cart boys" and beverage cart people. The beverage cart was hauling a$$ around a turn an almost hit us, she didn't say sorry and acted like we were in her way. My party and I finished our round and went to return our cart. 3 "cart boys" were standing there on their phones and didn't even acknowledge us. We cleaned our own carts and walked our bags to the parking lot ... Now I wouldn't complain about this but at a facility where you pay 200+ a round a little customer service would be nice. I have a lot of friends that play and I have played across the world and I will now highly discourage anyone to waste their money. Go play at la cantera or travel up to horseshoe bay.

This is one of those courses that you can get energized just from playing. Desitned to become one of those you think of when you think of the best in golf. In my book, it is right up there with Pinehurst #2 for challenge and enjoyment.

Beautiful course with tough approach shots. I'm a 15 handicap and was lucky to escape under 100. Loved every minute of it even though it caused me fits. Make sure you stay in the fairways, because the rough for me was the toughest I have seen.

Tough course but great design, better than Canyons in my opinion. The finishing holes are a lot of fun and will be exciting during the Valero Texas Open.
