Plantation was created for the average golfer–it’s a user-friendly course where spectacular play is not required for a decent score. Playing only 6,400 yards from the tips and under 6,000 from the middle tees, the course isn’t long, and it includes many par 4s that are nearly drive-able. Erratic, careless play is punished, however, with out-of-bounds lining the fairways and water coming into play on a few holes. Those short par 4s in particular are all guarded by water.
Two of the par 3s, the 148-yard No. 7 and the 188-yard No. 17, both require players to carry water.
Other notes: The speed of play is better than average because of the easier layout.
Getting there : From I-75 south, take Hwy. 121 west 7 miles to Hillcrest. Turn right and drive to Lebanon. Turn right and look for the entrance off of Plantation Lane.
