Great Layout, greens need work
I have played this course many times and I love the layout but the greens are never in good shape. Also, the bunkers are usually hard packed. They really need to get the greens in shape and then they'd be top notch.
The course is getting there.....
Great fairways... Greens are coming around, still some bare spots. been playing it for years, was really worried about greens but they are going to make it. Can't beat it for price, great clubhouse, people and food. there are still mosquitoes outside of fairway....bring the spray.
Evergreen
Evergreen is always good to play at., to bad they took the alligators out.
I always enjoy going here and the clubhouse and pro shop is great.
Mosquitos
Most of the greens were in bad shape and pray you don't end up in a bunker because it's like concrete. I had the best drive of the day just to find out they were fixing the green and put it in the middle of the corse. Would have been fine but no one told us and no sign. Also it was hot and that's fine but they told us that a beer girl would come around and fill up our ice to keep our beer cold. Nope all our beer was got by the 5th hole. Just not a great corse at all.
Awful Course
The greens are awful - especially the front nine. The worst that I have played on this season in the Houston area.
The bunkers are unplayable.
Will not return to this course again.
Well worth the 45-min drive
This is a first class facility with practice range, chipping and putting areas, grill and snack bar, and a very well-maintained golf course complete with water hazards, bunkers, trees and nice combination of holes off different levels of difficulty. The course fits any skill level depending on the tees one selects.
Course
Overall the course was in good shape. However the greens on the first 9 were very rough and not well kept.
Evergreen
The greens were horrible, 90% were littered with bare spots , weeds, very little grass, we had to declare max number of putts on all greens to 2 to have a decent game. No water in ball washers on the cart or free standing washers at Tees. Cart was sub standard, probably will not visit there again.
Green
This is a real nice golf course. The biggest complaint is the green is in real bad shape. Pitted and most of the grass is dead.
Greens
The greens at this course are by far the worst I have ever seen. When I asked the staff what was going on with the the response I got was that the freeze in January killed the, it is now June so I don't get it. There are multiple large weeds sticking up real holing on the greens and at least half the area of the greens is all dirt.
The greens are awful...
The title says it all. Bald, crab grass, patches, etc...
greens are terrible
the greens were in terrible shape. I would ask the condition of the greens before I would venture out to EP.
Greens in poor shape
On Every green the grass was only bumpy sand and weeds. For just getting out and hitting balls this was a good day on the course. But trying to putt a ball on these greens was not a good idea.
Nice Secluded Course
Nice course, nice layout. Only problem, the greens were totally dead. Mostly dirt, haven't recovered from the Winter freeze. For the $40+, they should have offered a discount. Good thing the Marshall warned us before we teed off or we would have really been upset. They should have mentioned something on their website. On the bright side, there were 5 of us and pretty much had the course to ourselves. Staff people were really nice and friendly. Would definitely go back once the greens come back.
poor greens
For $42.00 THIS COURSE WAS THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN. THE GREENS WERE MORE LIKE BUNKERS AND THE PRICE SHOULD REALLY BE REDUCED TILL THEY BRING THEM UP. I WISH I COULD APPLY PHONE TO THIS REVIEW TO PRICE MY POINT. DONT GO THERE YOU WILL BE REALLY DISAPOINTED.
Greens are unplayable
Unfortunately - the greens are in very poor condition. They appear to have a severe fungal disease. This problem has plagued Evergreen Point for many years. This is the worst I have ever seen them. Rest of course is in very good condition.
evergreen
The greens were terrible! The clubhouse restroom had no air conditioning and it was horrible! Only good thing about it the price on golf now 10$ if I had paid full price I would have been upset!
Great fairways, terrible greens.
The fairways were in the best shape I've ever seen them! But, the greens were in terrible shape! You would put not knowing which way your ball would bounce to, they probably rebuilding them but hope they repair soon cause the rest of the course is great! Will be playing here in a month or two hoping their in better shape.
Worst greens in Texas
I played this course several times over the years and in the past two years it has steadily went down hill. Now the greens are unplayable. And what is worst, there are no signs, no indication that they are bad. No discount for poor conditions. No temporary greens while they are being worked on. Nothing. It didn't even look like they were doing anything about it. Until this turns around I will not be playing this course and will let everyone I know to stay away.
